Samurai Z-272

Unless you live under a rock, you probably are aware of our Z-272.
Shes been on the road for about 6 months in this state and about a year in various other displacements, at the time 74mm was as far as we could go, now we can probably nudge it past 300cc with another 2mm on the bore size and possible 3mm on the crank size..... we'll see if we can do that in the future.
Its the fastest road legal (yep, number plate, lights the works..) Z-125 in the world, fastest 125cc fuel injected scooter in the world and its also one of the fastest scooters in asia too!.
We are always tinkering with it, finding new ways to get the ECU to play ball with all the mods, experimenting with different exhaust systems, cvt settings, wheels etc.

Its important for me to stress that though this bike is heavily modified, its still very much a road bike and acts like a pussy cat unless told to otherwise.
I say this because nearly every bike that comes close to the performance level is usually a stripped out, stretched and lowered frakenstein of a bike, im quite proud of the fact i can ride to an event, win most of the time then ride home with the HID lighting the way.

The bike is still air cooled and has a few overheating issues, sometimes the oil temp gets as high as 120c but no matter what the bike starts and rides and has never let me down (except once where my starter motor died) over the past year.
The key to this is the cylinder and piston combo, its a not so well kept secret of ours how it stays so reliable.
The piston as most of you know is forged 4032 type alloy, not cheap fake cast alloy with CNC finishing like 90% of the pistons on the market.

The cylinder is alloy with an iron sleeve, iron is without a doubt the strongest metal to use for this purpose, it doesnt expand or deform under extreme heat or high pressure.
Where most cylinder sleeves crack at 100c+ ours just keep going strong even when less than 2mm in diameter.
This same piston/cylinder combo is used in all of our engine kits so you can be assured it will last the lifetime of the bike.

1st post

This is our first official blog entry!

Today in the shop we had a BWS100, i say today but i mean for the past 6 months the owner has left it here while deciding what to do with it!.
At the time when i took this picture we had no idea we would start a blog, so i never took a pic of the finished project :-(

But i give you the basic run down of the spec:

56mm big bore on a otherwise stock engine
Custom made pipe to clear the wheel
HUUUGE fat rear rim and tyre
Custom made stretch kit
Air rear shock
CNC stem and wide bars
Shortened forks

Looked really sweet as it was so slammed to the ground.
