Updates

So as you know we are moved into the new place, though this is just our personal residence so the workshop is located 100 miles south of taipei....... which means i have to go on the highway for 2 hours to go and ship stuff for the time being!.

We have found a nice location in the heart of taipei to locate a showroom, our trusted mechanic will stay in the old place though which further complicates things, luckily taiwan has an awesome shipping system and we already have a large contract with the biggest courier firm for our other business so we will try and work something out.

TURBO ANYONE?

The pink BWS-125 that belongs to my wife is going through a very interesting transformation, basically theres a young chap (i forget his name!) who drives a lovely red alfa romeo who is starting a company building bolt on turbo kits for scooters............ oh how i laughed at him, turbos and single cylinders go together like poo and bread!.
Anyway he got it working once before on a kymco G5, the bike delivered 1.0 bar of boost with a special little turbo.

So how can he acheive what so many others have failed at?.
Well he claims the FI system makes it easy to fuel, ok im with him on that one.
Also others who have attempted before used turbos from small diesel engines, these turbos he plans to use are custom made to work on a small 4 stroke single scooter, this makes sense since alot of turbos are made locally, if you had the specs you could have them made specially.

Then theres the engine, we already run a forged piston and crank, so bottom end strength isnt an issue, the piston will also hold together with about 2.0bar as well!.
We can alter the compression ratio ourselves with custom made gaskets, spacers and/or modding the head.
My only doubts are the ignition timing, we cant control it, so that may limit our boost potential.

The kit is going to be running on our 164cc engine, with all the trimmings N/A it makes around 15WHP, adding 1 bar of boost in theory makes 30WHP............... in theory.

I do indeed have doubts, but hey its going to be fun to try!.

The move has finished

Finally finished moving in the early hours of yesterday morning, just got net access about 2 hours ago.

I can only apologise for the delays, it hasnt been an easy move but everything is back on track now!.

Further delays......

Our moving date got pushed from after the show to april 1st, this means we are rushing to move premises right now while also preparing for the show...... the amount of work as you can imagine is very stressful!.

The new premises is in central taipei, not only are we moving house (as in my whole family) but also starting an actual showroom.
The original plan was to move after the show, but some unseen things happened and we had no choice but to rush straight away.

What this means is that emails and orders are still delayed, though they are shipping, its just not as fast as usual.
I can only apologise for this, but the delays are well worth it in the long run i can assure you!.

Delays

Please accept my apologies for the lack of response via email these past few days, as you know i have been working hard on building an engine which on the final test run decided to snap in half and cause another few days of hard work.

We are also looking after some guests which has soaked up almost all of our free and work time since wednesday, i dont get to sit down until after 12am by which time i am too tired to switch the pc on.

But things will be back to normal after monday (tomorrow) and everybody will get replys to their emails the same night!.

13 second scooter - nearly finished!

Well what a chaotic week, the ultimate cygnus engine has pretty much been completed and ready for testing tomorrow morning.
Everything but the rear wheel is here and unless something happens during testing, this engine will be finished on time for wednesday!.

Cases came back and the assembly begun this afternoon, rear wheel on there now is just for testing, we still need to arrange the CVT and final gearing....... in all honesty this is the hardest part, you can lose alot of time if the settings on the CVT are off.

Here is the engine from the side with the fan removed, this is how the engine will be run, in the other pics you may see one installed, ignore it.
Everything has been ceremic coated, we are not taking chances with this engine, it needs to stay cool for about a minute and we think this should do the trick.
Next up is the head.
26mm and 25mm valves...... insanely large for this engine, in fact i think its a first in Taiwan.
Now the exhaust.
Genuine titanium including the manifold, very lightweight and judging by the length and diameter....very loud.

So there we are, almost ready to go!.
