We are back earlier than planned!.
Thanks for being patient.

Last update before we leave
Just got these custom RPM GII-ZERO shocks in.
Sorry for the ugly background, its in the store room and we are rushing to pack things before we leave, usually i would photoshop the background.... but no time.
These are the new shocks that we sell, 2 year warranty and amazing quality that once again surpasses EVERYTHING on the market!.
These are in black/blue combo, but there are many other colours to choose from.
Since they are made to order they can also be made for any bike, including sports bikes.
In fact this shock is usually used on the japanese market CB400 vtec.

Holiday in october
Just want to give a heads up to everybody.
We will not be available from October 15th-24th.

155/164cc EXTREME results and WRRP exhaust system
Finally got dyno results for our 164cc kit, somepoint in the next month or so we will do a video of it accelerating.
So nearly 17BHP at the wheels, this is a huge amount of power for a tiny 58.5mm piston.
Also on the video is the new WRRP exhaust system.
We are very confident that this exhaust makes more power than any other pipe on the market for stock,155 and 164cc bikes.
Not only that but all within a reasonable sound level, you can ride about and nobody can tell you have a tuned bike!.

Slight delay in extreme kit results and Force works ECU
There will be a slight delay for the dyno results as we cant get access to the dynojet until early next week.
We did book it for this morning and in fact we arrived expecting to use it.........welcome to Taiwan.
Also the ECU 'might' be delayed an extra week as the CNC factory that makes the case is running behind on orders.

Extreme head kits
Finally they will be arriving sometime this month at about the same time as the ForceWorks ECU!.
I have copy/pasted the below from the zumaforums, be sure to check in there for updates!.
What is it?
The Extreme kit is the final upgrade for existing Samurai 155cc and 164cc big bore kits.
What is in the kit?
A specially designed head complete with cam, valves, retainers and springs.
The valve and port size is designed to maximise gasflow from the 58.5mm bore.
The cam is also specially chosen to do the same.
What do we gain from this?
Good old fashioned horse power!.
On a 4 stroke engine, all of the power is in the head, already with just the stock head we are able to squeeze out 13-15bhp at the wheels, this head will allow us to push to the high teens (results thursday).
The whole point of this kit was to give a bolt on upgrade with only a basic knowledge of engine assembly.
No need to bore out the case, just remove and replace!.
How much will the kit cost?
No higher than $400, but you will need to have one of our big bore kits, force works ECU and a 32mm throttlebody already installed in order to use this kit.
Price may seem a bit high altogether but this isnt supposed to be down all at once, its a progression in stages with this being the final one.
What are the stages?
Stage 1) CVT & CLUTCH
Stage 2) 155/164 big bore kit
Stage 3) 32mm throttlebody
Stage 4) ECU
Stage 5) Extreme head
What about the exhaust?
Good point..... this is a major headache/problem for me.
The exhaust will need to be able to flow more gas than pretty much anything on the market, so there are going to be differences (or restrictions) in power depending on what exhaust you use.
I do have a solution for this, WRRP is making an exhaust which works better than anything else on the market with the 58.5mm big bore kits and will also work well with the extreme head.
This will be the exhaust used for the dyno test.
This thursday i will be posting pricing news and dyno results from the Extreme conversion done on my wifes bike

Force Works ECU
Exciting news!.
We are about to start offering the Force Works ECU in mid september, this clever little box allows you to adjust the fueling on your Samurai big bore kit equiped bikes!.
As standard our big bore kits are held back by the stock ECU, as you approach about 40mph the fueling starts to go rich and this lowers your power at higher speeds, reducing your potential top speed and also drinking more fuel than its supposed to.
With this ECU installed you can take away or add fuel with a simple button press, no engine lights, no need to restart the bike, you can do it on the fly!.
Check this link for more information:

Back to normal
Since getting back online i have had a rather large amount of emails and PMs (totaling about 45) some are questions others are people chasing up their orders (rightly so!).
Shipping has returned to normal, its Monday and the EMS guy is collecting packages, invoices are being printed... everything is as regular as it used to be.
I have also started building another monster GY6 engine which is destined for Norway.
Some people get a bit frustrated by our response time, please try to understand a few things:
1) This isn't our full time job anymore, we have a large shrimp business that keeps both me and the wife busy (www.seafortunes.com)
2) Time difference, since we are located in Taiwan we are about as on the other side of the world as it gets!.
This means there is a 16-12 hour difference between us, so usually we are in bed sleeping and only get to the email another 8 or so hours after its sent.
3) Our mail server has very strong filtering, i have often lowered the filter but almost instantly our in-box just get filled with spam!.
So if you don't get an answer within about 48hrs, chances are you have been filtered out so please try again with a different subject title without CAPITALS!.
4) PM's, i am not always on the forums, the best method for contacting us is by our company emails:
sales@samuraiscoot.com & care@samuraiscoot.com
5) Please remember we are not a large business, this is purely just a hobby of ours, there are only 2 of us and sometimes we make mistakes. Its what you might call a mom and pop business.
Now there was a point where things were getting serious and we were looking to grow, after a lot of talking we decided to keep things small and simple, this way its still our hobby and not just a 'job'!.
6) We try to keep stock with the most popular items, but its not always possible to tell whats going to be popular one month to the next.
Our suppliers or to be honest all suppliers in Taiwan are just a pain in the backside, no matter how much money or how much time you give them, they can drag their feet and waste infinite amounts of time (yours and ours!) so sometimes orders can lag, we will always try to keep you up to date or let you know if the parts are not in stock.
Hope the above is some use to you!.

PC meltdown........ again
Once again our pc went into a meltdown, both my vista and windows 7 install failed to boot and i was stuck without internet access for close to 3 days.
To make matters worse it was the only pc in the household as my wife traveled to china for business and took the laptop with her, i do believe she emailed a few people telling them of the problem.
Now the pc is fixed and healthy again (its a cooler master cosmos case which weighs 30kgs, i had to carry this to a repair shop in Taipei in the 40c heat!) turns out my 3 year old was inserting money into the air vents and caused a meltdown of electrical shorting which corrupted my hard drives (all 3!).
You couldn't make this stuff up!.
Problem is our email account is built into the website and its not just a straight forwards log in, i had the link saved on my pc before and just accessed from that, but now that link is lost and i have no way of getting into my email account until my wife returns from china tomorrow night.
If she goes online in the mean time i should be able to get the link from her.
Those of you who are trying to contact me can do via facebook.
People who made orders last month can relax as everything was shipped between late last week and this week.

Monster GY6 engines
Though is has been a quiet summer, we still managed to keep ourselves busy with another project.
What you are looking at is 2 brand new monster GY6 engines.
You are probably wondering whats so special about them?.
Well unlike all the chinese GY6 clones, these GY6s have a special case which allows us to use a much larger 67mm bore, the normal GY6 can only manage 63mm.
On top of that we use a monster 8mm stroker crank to make a rather insane 231cc!
Theres a little more to these engines besides a large displacement, they also have a hand ported big valve head (still 2 valve by the way) custom intake manifold with genuine Keihin PWK carbs.
Both of these engines look the same but they are for different uses, one of them is for road use and the other is for the drag strip.
Power output..... well its unknown as we are the only people to do this setup, but i would guess about 20bhp with a mega flat torque curve.
Enjoy the pics.

Ruckus shocks!
Slow to update as we have been busy with other projects!.
Anyway, remember the post about my visit to RPM?.
Well take a look at this:
This shock is truly special and likely to take the ruckus/zoomer scene by storm!.
This is RPM's very best shock downscaled for the ruckus.
No more poorly made cheap chinese shocks, this is the first true 230mm performance shock, allow me to go over its features.
Cartridge bearing top mount to ensure smooth running
Hand polished internals
11-way rebound adjustment (real adjustment!)
10mm offset
CNC machined rebound adjustment (not rubber)
Linear spring
High quality seals
Hand made in Taiwan
Desgined for heavier riders (200lbs)
2 year warranty
This one is our first sample, testing will be done next week.

New pistons!
The wheels may be moving slowly over at Samurai these past few weeks but that hasnt stopped us from making a dramatic change to one of our most treasured products!.
Our pistons, famed for being the best on the scooter market have been given an upgrade at no additional cost!.
We now have them W.P.C treated (as standard!), this is a special process that coats the piston in a coating which reflects heat, increases strength and also acts just like teflon.
We also coated the inside of the cylinders too.
All big bore kits ordered after the middle of may were given this upgrade and all future orders will too.
As it stands we are the only piston supplier on the market that offers this service as standard!.

Trojan!
We managed to get seriously infected with a trojan horse on our lovely new pc setup!.
Its all my stupid fault for downloading a certain 'free' game from a certain 'pir@teb@y' without checking the uploader.
I have tried everything under the sun to remove it and so far nothing is working, windows explorer sometimes crashes and i dont dare log into anything important for obvious reasons!.
Luckily it infected our old vista hardrive and not the new windows 7 one (i have a dual boot, multi hardrive setup... hey i do live in Taiwan!) its just annoying as i didnt finish backing everything up to add to windows 7.

RPM factory visit
We visited the RPM factory in Taipei today, since moving to Taipei it has enabled us to contact more factory's and get more business done.
Its quite nice as its only 20 mins car drive to almost everyone which means we can get things done quickly and easily.
So why were we there?.
Ruckus shocks...... real, proper 230mm shocks that have adjustable damping and don't have a rock hard ride.
We have been trying to get 230mm shocks made for a long time, we actually made a few at one point but had issues with ride quality, the only way we could get this done is if we built a specific shock for this purpose and that's what we spent 6 hours discussing today.... how to get you ruckus boys lower to the ground more comfortably!.
Anyway here's a few pics of the place and also a sneak peak at the latest STAGE6 forks... they ain't even out yet ;-)
Oh Zuma guys,
Check out the yellow Zuma and let me know if the exhaust and flywheel cover interest you!.

EMS
There was a terrific screw up this past week with EMS, i would like to explain what happened.
Since moving to Taipei we had to sign a new contract with a seperate EMS branch local to us, unlike the old branch they are not open 7 days a week and close at 5pm whereas our old once closed at midnight.
We also cant send the packages at the branch they do pickups only, which is actually very usefull for us since alot of those packages are very big.
Since we dont go into the branch we have to weigh and measure our packages ourselves and pay for them when they arrive, its a bit backwards but this is the way they want it.
We had a few issues with them 2 weeks ago where they claimed our scales were under weighing and they held some packages until it was straightened out.
The end result was that they gave us their personal scales to weigh with, that way there would be no discrepancy between our scales.
So for the first time we used their scales and shipped 6 packages on thursday last week.......
Well they claimed we under weighed them again but this time they didnt call or notify us, it wasnt until a few customers emailed me saying their tracking info wasnt working that we discovered this!.
Anyway it was all cleared up 2 days ago and it shouldnt happen again, we know have the driver weigh them in front of us BEFORE taking them to the depot.
Apologies for those that were left waiting, it wont happen again.

Samurai now officially a Frando dealer!
We have been unofficially selling they fantastic products for a while now and have finally sealed the deal thanks to us being located about 15 mins away from their factory in Taipei.
Let me just say on a personal level the frando 4 piston calipers are amongst the very best in the world, they are all forged alloy with CNC finishing, everything from the scratch free paint to the high quality stainless bolts is of the most amazing quality.
They come with a 2 year warranty too, so theres really no reason why you would consider any other caliper.
We use frando brakes on both of our personal bikes (which i bought retail at the time on my RED Z-272!) and all of our race bikes.
To kick start this new partnership we are now offering a complete bolt on upgrade for the Yamaha Zuma 125.
You retain the existing 220mm disc and simply replace the old caliper and bracket with the new Frando 4 piston monster!.
Comes in one finish as shown and the kit price is $180 for fitment to the stock 220mm disc and $190 for fitment to the Samurai 260mm disc.
The Samurai 260mm floating disc is $90.
Frando also do stainless hoses, they are actually GOODRICH hoses with a frando sticker, they are $45.
Frando radial master cylinder is $170, click here for colour options: CLICK HERE!

Ultimate GY6 engines now on sale!
To fight the alarming amount of low quality chinese GY6 engines flooding the market, we decided to release a very special version of the GY6.
We have access to genuine OEM cases which are capable of going much larger than the 63mm bore the standard GY6 was stuck to.
Ours go to 67mm!!!!!
Availible as a bare bones case or a complete brand new built engine for the street or drag strip, there are tons of options which i couldnt even begin to list here but the 2 displacements availible are:
Case alone supplied with a Samurai 67mm big bore kit is only $650!.
(if you already have a tuned up GY6 this is a cool option as you can just transfer all the parts from your existing motor............ yes thats right our engine accepts all GY6 engine parts!)
Complete build prices start at $2200 for the 217cc street engine and go up to $3500 for a 4 valve watercooled monster!.
Pictures of an example build in the next few days and also some videos of a 232cc monster next month.

PC issues
We upgraded our pc to the new 6 core AMD cpu, new motherboard, new larger hard drive and windows 7.
Essentially a whole new pc, i didnt expect things to go smoothly but i did not expect them to have me without net access for 2 days!.
Basically the new motherboard didnt have the correct BIOS to run the new X6 1055t cpu (nerd speak here) and was refusing to boot or even allow me into the setup to update the BIOS.
Fast forwards 2 days (broken fingernails and late nights) and we are back online!

Farewell KOSO clutch
The day has come, i finally ran out of the legendary KOSO race clutch!.
I thought i had more left but it seems that i am down to the last one.
KOSO are willing to make more but require a large quantity order which we cant do right now thanks to the expense of the show.
So thats it for now, i could never find anything to replace it, so its just basic performance clutches from now on at a cheaper price....... which i guess will please some.

13 second engine in detail
Due to the show this was put on the back burner for a while, if you go back through our posts you will notice that we went through 2 engines in the process of making this!.
So lets take a look at the finished engine shall we.
Powder coated the cases gunmetal and applied ceremic coating to the cylinder and head, though heat isnt an issue for us as its only going to do 2 runs before being shut down.
The transmission side of the case has been drilled out to save a little weight............ we learnt our lesson last time and have added a CNC swingarm to help strengthen it, the swingarm weighs about 600 grams so its not really a big deal.
Here we have the samurai bell and the koso race clutch installed behind it, in my experience these 2 are the best combo on the market, shame the KOSO is next to impossible to pick up anymore.
CNC cooling fins with a breather tube attached, this will run along the inside of the frame rails to release excess pressure, though not pictured we are using a KEIHIN PWM38 carb with a HKS air filter.
CNC machined flywheel with custom timing, cylinder has built in passages for the oil cooler, other than that nothing special going on here.
Our swingarm as mentioned before.
Heres the other side in all its glory.
Now i cant say who this engine belongs too, but it will be raced this summer in a major event, im hoping to break the low 13's possibly the 12's if we get the gearing right, this would set a new record for a 4 stroke 125 scooter engine.
Inside is a huge 75mm piston with a very long stroker crank ( i forget check my previous post! )
The head has a proper 5 angle job with titanium retainers and stainless valves (again huge).
The engine requires over 100 octane gas to avoid detenation and its so fast we have to change the belt after a few runs.
Well hope you enjoyed the photos, i didnt get the Titanium exhaust out because its all wrapped up ready to ship.

The show is over
So the show finished about 4 hours ago, everything is packed and has arrived at the new show room in downtown taipei, though the shop isnt ready yet.
Show was half the size of last year, about 1/4th the amount of people came this time and we got screwed over by the event organisers, allow me to explain................
You see months ago we picked our booth space to be right by the entrance with our booth facing towards everybody.
4 days prior to the show the organisers uploaded a new floorplan which shrunk the event down and put us at the end of the show with the main entrance but in half directing people in the opposite direction!.
Its embarassing to have your booth tossed to the side as if your a nobody, even worse when you planned and was prepared to be in the middle of all the action, if they gave us more notification i could of faced my booth towards people instead of AWAY from them, as such nobody could find us, even friends who came to visit had a hard time finding us.
So yes we are very angry and we complained to the event organisers, all they said was sorry a thousand times and bow their heads......... how about a small refund considering we payed for prime space.
Other than that our bikes managed to attract a few crowds, heres some pictures.....

Photo finish
The International scooter show starts on the 15th of this month, we will be setting up the display booth from the 13th which is in 5 days time!.
So far our bikes are 100 miles away UNFINISHED, half of our products are still not ready and its looking like the catalogue will not be printed in time!.
So its happy days at Samurai HQ right now....... sarcasm doesnt really translate online as well as real life!.
We arent taking any new orders from now until the 18th to free us of some much needed time to prepare.
In the mean time heres a sneak peak at our latest GY6 63mm piston.

Updates
So as you know we are moved into the new place, though this is just our personal residence so the workshop is located 100 miles south of taipei....... which means i have to go on the highway for 2 hours to go and ship stuff for the time being!.
We have found a nice location in the heart of taipei to locate a showroom, our trusted mechanic will stay in the old place though which further complicates things, luckily taiwan has an awesome shipping system and we already have a large contract with the biggest courier firm for our other business so we will try and work something out.
TURBO ANYONE?
The pink BWS-125 that belongs to my wife is going through a very interesting transformation, basically theres a young chap (i forget his name!) who drives a lovely red alfa romeo who is starting a company building bolt on turbo kits for scooters............ oh how i laughed at him, turbos and single cylinders go together like poo and bread!.
Anyway he got it working once before on a kymco G5, the bike delivered 1.0 bar of boost with a special little turbo.
So how can he acheive what so many others have failed at?.
Well he claims the FI system makes it easy to fuel, ok im with him on that one.
Also others who have attempted before used turbos from small diesel engines, these turbos he plans to use are custom made to work on a small 4 stroke single scooter, this makes sense since alot of turbos are made locally, if you had the specs you could have them made specially.
Then theres the engine, we already run a forged piston and crank, so bottom end strength isnt an issue, the piston will also hold together with about 2.0bar as well!.
We can alter the compression ratio ourselves with custom made gaskets, spacers and/or modding the head.
My only doubts are the ignition timing, we cant control it, so that may limit our boost potential.
The kit is going to be running on our 164cc engine, with all the trimmings N/A it makes around 15WHP, adding 1 bar of boost in theory makes 30WHP............... in theory.
I do indeed have doubts, but hey its going to be fun to try!.

Further delays......
Our moving date got pushed from after the show to april 1st, this means we are rushing to move premises right now while also preparing for the show...... the amount of work as you can imagine is very stressful!.
The new premises is in central taipei, not only are we moving house (as in my whole family) but also starting an actual showroom.
The original plan was to move after the show, but some unseen things happened and we had no choice but to rush straight away.
What this means is that emails and orders are still delayed, though they are shipping, its just not as fast as usual.
I can only apologise for this, but the delays are well worth it in the long run i can assure you!.

Delays
Please accept my apologies for the lack of response via email these past few days, as you know i have been working hard on building an engine which on the final test run decided to snap in half and cause another few days of hard work.
We are also looking after some guests which has soaked up almost all of our free and work time since wednesday, i dont get to sit down until after 12am by which time i am too tired to switch the pc on.
But things will be back to normal after monday (tomorrow) and everybody will get replys to their emails the same night!.

13 second scooter - nearly finished!
Well what a chaotic week, the ultimate cygnus engine has pretty much been completed and ready for testing tomorrow morning.
Everything but the rear wheel is here and unless something happens during testing, this engine will be finished on time for wednesday!.
Cases came back and the assembly begun this afternoon, rear wheel on there now is just for testing, we still need to arrange the CVT and final gearing....... in all honesty this is the hardest part, you can lose alot of time if the settings on the CVT are off.
Here is the engine from the side with the fan removed, this is how the engine will be run, in the other pics you may see one installed, ignore it.
Everything has been ceremic coated, we are not taking chances with this engine, it needs to stay cool for about a minute and we think this should do the trick.
Next up is the head.
26mm and 25mm valves...... insanely large for this engine, in fact i think its a first in Taiwan.
Now the exhaust.
Genuine titanium including the manifold, very lightweight and judging by the length and diameter....very loud.
So there we are, almost ready to go!.
